Well we’re quite behind on writing blog posts. I try to refrain from writing because it will ruin the fun for Wim. I want him to have first dibs on the telling of our adventures. So excuse the lateness for the English readers.

With fall now here, we had a lot of things to do. We got the apple picking out of the way. It wasn’t as successful as hoped though. We started our day at the Hopewell historical furnace. It was a hot spot in America’s past for iron crafting. After touring we had a nice picnic and went off to get apples. With my luck, after 5 minutes I slipped on a rotten apple and got stung by a not so happy bee that was eating said apple. Well, at least I’m not scared of a bee sting anymore after being a victim. I sucked up the pain and Wim helped me get two nice apples. Nice apples weren’t plentiful because it’s a natural orchard and the bee’s have first dibs.

This past week we finally got some pumpkins in time for Halloween. We got some awesome stencil ideas and carved away (picture in Wim’s post below). Carving was new to both Wim and I. My parents used to do the carving when I was younger, so I got to do a lot this time. I baked the pumpkin seeds in the oven, which was also a learning experience.

I keep asking Wim to set up some sort of picture gallery on his blog, but he hasn’t gotten around to it so I will add some images this post. A picture is worth a thousand words after all…

Some pictures are from the trip to Hopewell, others are from a car show hosted by the local high school up the hill. Wim got to see a lot of ‘interesting’ people there (Hicks)…haha
